MC Truck Driver | Station Hand (one position)

We are Consolidated Pastoral Company (CPC) an Australian based beef producer which owns and operates a portfolio of cattle stations across Northern Australia.

You will embrace the chance to learn and grow with CPC with your key duties and tasks:

MC Driver

  • Internal cattle carting in a manual prime mover with three single deck trailers
  • Low stress livestock handling techniques and promote and manage best practice animal welfare for our animals
  • Daily inspections on prime mover and trailers and general servicing and maintenance on the vehicle including brakes, oils, lubricants and tyres
  • Keeping accurate and current driver logbook entries
  • Paddock distribution of cattle supplement with a six wheel drive R Model Mack

Station Hand

  • All cattle operations including mustering, drafting, processing and trucking
  • Low stress livestock handling techniques and promote and manage best practice animal welfare for our animals
  • Horse riding and two wheel motorbike riding
  • General station operational experience

What you will need

  • A genuine interest in working and living on a remote cattle station and be willing to "camp out" in remote locations away from the station complex from time to time
  • MC Drivers Licence desirable
  • Previous experience transporting livestock (cattle) with three trailers (desirable)
  • Hiab Crane and Tipper experience (desirable, but not essential as training can be provided)
  • More than two years cattle handling experience
  • Horse and two wheel motorbike experience
  • Ability to operate as part of a team

You must hold a current MC Licence to apply for this role.

Physical Demands

This is a physically demanding job that includes both indoor and outdoor work in all types of weather and temperature environments.

This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders.

This job can be physically strenuous (demanding) from time to time. You will be expected to be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, lift, grip, grasp, push and pull various tools and equipment. You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull from 5 - 10 kilo's and occasionally more.
