About us

Consolidated Pastoral Company (CPC) is a leading Australian managed, UK owned agribusiness with strong ESG values. CPC owns and operates a portfolio of eleven station aggregations in Australia and two feedlots in Indonesia. Across more than 5.5m hectares of land, the CPC team care for more than 400,000 head of cattle, 100,000 sheep, 50,000 goats and produces a diverse range of crops.

What you'll do

  • Load and truck internal and external cattle to and from the Station
  • Comply with best practice animal welfare and quality assurance
  • Load cattle at an appropriate rate per deck
  • Adhere to current fatigue management guidelines
  • Complete all paperwork as required
  • Drive truck(s) carting general freight to and from town
  • Delivering supplement to paddocks on station and to other CPC properties
  • Deliver hay from paddocks to multiple yards and other CPC properties
  • Loading and unloading other cattle trucks (or freight trucks if required)
  • Operate other heavy machinery as required (Loader, Bobcat, Grader)
  • Conduct general property observations while driving (fencing & waters)
  • Maintain the road train and trailers in a safe, serviceable and roadworthy condition (including cleaning)
  • Develop a schedule and monitor the need for servicing and maintenance
  • Carry out planned and unplanned repairs/maintenance in a timely manner and report on maintenance needs
  • Assist other station staff as required

What you need

  • A genuine interest in working and living on a remote cattle station
  • Current multi-combination (MC) drivers licence
  • Must have prior experience working with and transporting livestock
  • Current drivers licence (manual)
  • Competent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and strong safety awareness
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Demands

This is a physically demanding job that includes both indoor and outdoor work in all types of weather and temperature environments. This job can be physically strenuous (demanding) from time to time. You will be expected to be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, lift, grip, grasp, push and pull various tools and equipment. You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull from 10-20 kilo's and occasionally more. This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders.
