About Rawlinna

Rawlinna is located 400km east of Kalgoorlie, WA, on the western side of the Nullarbor (a remote location). Rawlinna is known as Australia's largest operational sheep station and covers 1,000,000 hectares. The station is stocked with merino sheep and shearing is carried out annually.

About you

Your key duties and tasks

  • Patrol and maintain the Dog Fence across Rawlinna station
  • Carry out repairs, general upkeep, and all types of fencing work
  • Communicate regularly with the Station Manager
  • Pest and vermin control as part of the pest management program
  • Monitor livestock watering points along your patrol route
  • Camp out during the week as needed

What you will need

  • Essential that you are experienced with building fencing and repairing fencing
  • Confident operating a 4WD across varying terrain and dirt tracks
  • Comfortable living and working remotely
  • Able to problem solve in your day to day tasks
  • Firearms licence is an advantage (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Practical, capable and resourceful

Physical Demands

This is a physically demanding job that includes both indoor and outdoor work in all types of weather and temperature environments.

This job can be physically strenuous (demanding) from time to time. You will be expected to be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, lift, grip, grasp, push and pull various tools and equipment. You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull from 10-20 kilo's and occasionally more. This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders.
