Supervisor - Weaner & Backgrounding Operations, Newcastle Waters (NT)

You will embrace the chance to learn and grow with CPC with your key duties and tasks:
- Effectively manage programs for weaner feeding in conjunction with the operations team in regards to mustering programs
- Induction and exit of all young cattle into and out of the weaner program
- Record and maintain all data and traceability associated with receiving, loading and processing of young cattle into and out of the program
- Coordinate the backgrounding of weaners on and off forage crops
- Low stress livestock handling techniques and promote and manage best practice animal welfare for our animals (including monitoring and handling the treatment of sick animals)
- Cattle handling: process, muster, pen ride, tailing out
- Mustering on horse back and on a two wheel motorbike
- Operation of a tractor and feed wagon to conduct daily feeds from commodities
- Coordinate for the repairs and maintenance of plant, equipment and infrastructure
- Responsible for a small team and up to ten on occasion
What you will need
- A genuine interest in working and living on a remote cattle station
- Looking to step up into an energetic and rewarding role - skilled in all tasks reasonably required of a Station Hand Level 4 up to a Head Stockperson
- Computer knowledge including ability to confidently use Microsoft suite of programs (and willingness to learn company specific data collection programs)
- Proven skills in cattle handling, processing and mustering
- Horse riding and handling ability
- Current and valid drivers licence (manual)

Physical Demands
This is a physically demanding job that includes both indoor and outdoor work in all types of weather and temperature environments.
This job can be physically strenuous (demanding) from time to time. You will be expected to be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, lift, grip, grasp, push and pull various tools and equipment. You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull from 10-20 kilo's and occasionally more. This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders.
